Tallest Stack of Shoes

Mathanky Kanagasundaram (மாதங்கி கனகசுந்தரம்) from Jaffna, Sri Lanka achieved an amazing feat by setting the Guinness World Record for the tallest stack of shoes in one minute (Under 16s) on May 20, 2024. The record was achieved in Kodikamam, Sri Lanka, when Mathanky stacked 10 shoes one on top of the other in 59 seconds.

Mathanky (aka Mathangi), a student of G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) at Chavakacheri Hindu College in Jaffna, applied for the record through the official Guinness World Records website. After practicing and preparing, she was able to complete the challenging task with impressive speed and precision. The entire event was carefully recorded as a video, in the presence of two official witnesses, and submitted online, following the guidelines set by Guinness World Records.

The record was officially reviewed by the Guinness World Records assessment committee over the next three months. After a thorough verification process, the record was confirmed. On August 28, 2024, Mathanky’s achievement was officially recognized as a Guinness World Record, and she received a certificate to celebrate her success.

Mathanky’s achievement highlights her focus and determination, making her an inspiration to young people in Sri Lanka and around the world. It also marks a proud moment for her school, Chavakacheri Hindu College, as they celebrate their student’s record-breaking success. When she performed, she was studying for the General Certificate of Education (O/L).
